Acche Din: a Myth

I quote “Bhaiyon or Behno, Mitron, mere pyaare desh waasiyo, Ache din ayenge” I unquote. This sugar quoted affinity articulated in an eloquent way entertained the country for over three years now just like ‘All is well’ catchphrase did in 3 idiots and people were injected with a dose of hope. That was entertainment and this is Democracy - the largest in the World - which does not run on catchphrases, dialogues, slogans, and standing jokes. You can fool a person in many ways, you can even fool many persons once, but you can never fool many people in many ways: at least not with ‘ache din’ phrase.

India has always been an emotionally charged country which has lived by the letters- H.O.P.E, Hope. Be it the hardest global downturn, famine, flood, terrorism, nationwide protests or scandals. India lived by all tides in the name of Democracy. But what about those billions, with their deaf, dumb, and blind faith, who crowned a dream seller to do what? Is it to receive failed demonetisation, unplanned GST, or playing hide and seek with the black money keepers?

Statistically, Out of 15.44 lakh crore demonetised money, 15.28 lakh crore were received into RBI and only 1% notes were unreturned.

India has slipped the position in the Human Development Index and is now behind Sri Lanka and Maldives. The Panama paper leaks and paradise paper leaks have clearly portrayed the real image of NDA politicians.

A dramatic downfall in the penalty rates by 90% in GST has demonstrated the target of winning Gujarat Elections, apparently. Toilets constructed under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are ready to use but difficult to flush!

UN predicts a marginal increase in unemployment in India in the coming year! Maybe the motive behind these steps was good, but the disorganised attempt and wrong time made it a sore in the inflation and inflation is now at a 7-month high!

People tolerated the pain just in the hope to get things better…but where are the ache din? Where is the black money that was claimed to
bring the ache din in our bank accounts? We were only sold the dream of ache din…

Before I shut my words, I want to open your mind. Let not anyone sell you dreams in the name of ache din.
